I'll add two:

1. There's no job worth being humiliated for.

2. There's nothing you can't learn on your own-if you want to.

a modern day sheepskin is just a head-of-the-line pass for paying your dues up front and allowing yourself to be indoctrinated/brainwashed/dumbed-down...

I’ll add a third: Experience is not making the same mistake twice.

I had plans for college until I became a daddy at 19. Became an apprentice carpenter instead. Went through four years of apprenticeship school in two years and the rest of my life, enjoyed my occupation of carpentry and contracting. I doubt if a college degree would have enhanced my life much more than working with my hands and enjoying building dream houses for people. I don’t do much of that any more in my elder years but still working with my hands creating Native Art and sculpturing stone, wood and antlers.

I am experimenting with nuclear engineering in my garage. I am working with plutonium isotopes tonight. Want to come over ?

Bring your own plutonium.
