I have had this posted on a number of threads but the open offer stands. The first person to explain to me how it is that a conservative can vote for a liberal without abandoning what he believes in to do so will get me to vote for Romney.

Today on another thread there was another story about the GOP being hesitant over the funding of zerocare. Bhoner is once again at it with the trial balloons and excuses. Now I think you agree that Bohner and the GOP should stick to their principles-the GOP platform, correct?

So logically and without the ‘fear of Obama excuse’ explain to me why we should vote for a person that has the record of MR and his thoroughly documented history of oposition to conservatism.

By compromising what we believe in out of fear of the crazy democrat, we collectively put into power the very people who repeatedly sell out this country. That cannot rationally be argued against. So why do you feel that by electing a man farther left than McConnel/Bohner and literally every other RINO in Washington, that somehow ‘good’ will result?

I would submit to you that since 10, the GOP has had the full and complete ability to shut down every unlawful act, overreach of power and utter usurpation of the Obama Admin. And I would likewise ask you in all honesty, why you would think that such a congress would rein in their own party leader’s liberalism when they have documented refused to do so with the opposition?

No, I do not want Obama reelected. And I do not want a liberal like Romney who shares MANY of Obama’s ‘values’ and policies (abortion/homosexuals/gun control/mandates) to be empowered either.

And until someone does better than ‘Obama is the Antichrist- (though he well may be) I am not going to again help the GOP move left. Because no one can say with a straight face that electing the most liberal ‘Republican’ to ever run under the party’s banner will move it to the right or even keep it ‘centered’.

And if America is stupid enough to do it, they will do it without my help.

Your premise is faulty...Mittens isn’t a “ liberal” .... Granted he isn’t a Reagan conservative either....he was governor of one of the most liberal he’ll holes in the country....so one would expect him to govern left....

The more I watch and listen to Romney I more I like him... Which isn’t saying much since I pretty much did not like them at all....he was on the bottom of my list as the nominee

I utterly dispise McCain but managed to vote for the old goat. Because of
Palin....

Who Romney picks as VP will go a long way to making me more comfortable with him a a candidate

I ultimately will vote for Romney because my six grand children need to have a chance to grow in the america I grew up in....with Obama for four more years there is zero chance of that happening....with Romney at least they have a chance...

So I’m making a principle Decision for my namesake....

It’s called incrementalism.

The left has been moving the goal posts further and further away from what we might call constitutional conservatism (let’s leave labels aside).

If we keep swinging for the fences, we’re never going to win. Let’s hit some singles, play some smart & tough defense, build a good farm system.

But if we stand at the plate refusing to swing unless the pitch is right down the pike?
