Really? It's merely speculative, but my bet is that if alcohol were discovered today, it would immediately be classified as a Schedule II narcotic. It sure does anesthetize a lot of drunk drivers.

I also know dozens of people who have tried pot or even maybe smoked it regularly 30 years ago. They are not felons, nor are they criminals. Most of them are regular, hard-working taxpayers who turned out fine and have raised decent right-leaning children. You seem to be awfully judgmental.

I’ve used pot in the past, mostly in college, but I’m not a felon. Are you saying that anyone who’s even been in the presence of pot is guilty of a felony?
I’m equating the effects of pot to alcohol, not the legality. Pot is benign compared to alcohol. That can be qualified by any number of research discussions across the web and in academic and scientific journals.
