There is a banner ad at the top of my site offering 35% off pre-orders of the soon-to-be-released book, Abandoned: The Untold Stories of the Abortion Wars, written by Dr. Monica Miller.

My endorsement of Abandoned will be on its back cover, along with the endorsement of several pro-life leaders like Fr. Frank Pavone, Joe Scheidler, David Bereit, Teresa Tomeo, Al Kresta, and best-selling author Dinesh D’Souza, who wrote in the book’s forward:

Quite simply, this is the best book ever written on abortion. Beautifully written, this is about the consequences of Roe v. Wade, as seen through the eyes of one woman, who tells a clear and compelling story with passion but without fanaticism. On a subject that is often heavy and depressing, this is a hard-hitting yet compassionate and moving book. Honestly, I wouldn’t have thought such a narrative could be done, only now it has been done.

I couldn’t more highly recommend Abandoned. I couldn’t put the manuscript down once I opened it this winter. In fact, I quoted a compelling section from Abandoned in a post back in February.

Monica was a main force behind the launch of the pro-life rescue movement in the late 1970s/early 1980s and has also retrieved and given proper burial to thousands of aborted babies over the years. Most of the incidences Monica describes in Abandoned took place in the Chicago/Milwaukee area, making them even more real since I was familiar with many of the locations she wrote about.

But most compelling is to read Monica’s thinking and emotions along the way. What was it like to be the first to actually creep into back alleys and warehouses in the dead of night to pick aborted babies out of the trash? To decide it was right and just to take artistic, respectful photos of the dead (see front cover) – before anyone else was doing it? To spend time in prison – pregnant? To find love in the midst of unspeakable human tragedy?

Monica weaves apologetics into her heroic personal story, making Abandoned much more than a biography. Abandoned is also an important historical reference book, a must read by all pro-lifers.

Abandoned is published by St. Benedict Press. Order now to not only get a great discount but also to give the book a good launch. Abandoned will also be the topic of my first ever book club this fall. The book is that important.

"... as seen through the eyes of one woman, who tells a clear and compelling story with passion but without fanaticism."

Just what does it take to be described as having "fanaticism" in expressing opposition to the brutal slaughtering of over 55 million unborn children in the U.S. since Roe v. Wade?

If there is any "fanaticism" it is in those who have ruled, legislated, funded, promoted, earned a profit or living, or approved such a genocidal and traitorous mass murder of those unborn children.

Sadly, so many of our little American citizens believe in abortion but just not for themselves.

We like to blame Roe v. Wade for the murder of millions of children. But the Court didn't force a single mother to kill her child.

Jill Stanek would agree with you completely, that the fullest imaginable opposition to abortion would not be "fanaticism".

Her use of the word is only to pay tribute to Monica Miller's writing skill, which describes with an exactness which is "just and right", and persuades without bludgeoning.

Monica Migliorino Miller is a real champion. She has challenged the "jaws of hell" and, with Christ, will triumph.
