WARNING GRAPHIC AUDIO/VIDEO LINK HERE!
This was the beginning of a game that was on immediately following the Olympics, only reason I saw it. It was painful.
I couldn’t take it. I had to stop the video.
My gosh, didn’t they audition her? Maybe her parents donated a lot of money to the park, teams...someone.
MY EARS MY EARS!!!
Looked like among the worst case of singer nerves ever. At least she was trying, unlike the notorious Rosanne Barr rendition years ago, when Rosie tried to be bad.
Next time, may I suggest Celina Ray. She does the anthem before Dallas Stars games, and is extremely Not Guilty.
Could be. I strongly believe it’s a ten year old child that can not sing.
This is the way it should be done. I hadn’t heard this one before, and was going to post another version, but the spontaneity of this one made me choose it. And besides, I saw them at Pete’s Dream!!
I won't stand, I won't sing until I am back in my country. |
OTOH. Raul Malo of the “Mavericks” sang the anthem at Indianapolis today for NASCAR. IMHO, that was the best I’ve ever heard anyone sing it. That guy did not miss one note. He was right on key for the entire song with no fancy fluctuations to cover the hard parts. Well done Raul!!!!
She even muffed a line, singing “...and the land of the free” instead of “...o’er the land of the free.” Occasionally she was almost on track only to ruin it with an inane embellishment. Why do so many singers think they can improve on the composer?
Sounds to me like she was trying to dress it up like so many pop stars do now days.
Why can’t people just sing it the way it was meant to be sung?
