He had a bit part in a 1961 “Andy Griffith Show” where he played a farmer with a daughter that wanted to use make up and wear dresses but he couldn’t allow it because he didn’t have anybody else to help him with the farm. He finally allowed it when Andy reasoned that his daughter should get dolled up and get married so the farmer would have a strapping son in law. It was 40 years before Andy started shilling for the socialists. He was still a decent human being.

i love that episode... Andy’s gal friend who worked at the drug store gave her a make over, and her father didn’t recognize her... and she caught the eye of the boy from the farm next door... during the series, there were signs of Andy’s socialism... the one that irked me the most was the one that had to do with eminent domain...
