I have no idea if the pair of them even believe in wearing wedding rings, nor do I care. Why do you assume he’s wearing that as a wedding ring? Do you know that some people even though married, never wear a wedding ring?
It’s not compulsory.
You might just be expecting a foreigner to follow what he might consider to be a tradition he has no interest in. The wedding ring is simply a Western tradition.
