He was very good in the butchered movie version of the musical Bye Bye Birdie (which started stage production with the title “Going Steady”).

The 70-year-old singer of hits including "Wild One" and "Volare" had surgery last week. He expects to be released from the hospital Wednesday. It's amazing how fast they can get you out of the hospital after major surgery these days.
