Stossel called O'Reilly a "blowhard" tonight
Posted on 07/17/2012 8:37:58 PM PDT by Kevin in California
I guess they were talking about guns and the crime spree going on in Chi-town and O'Reilly said something (not sure exactly what) that brought a response from Stossel of "you're just a blowhard in a studio!"
I LMAO.....

BOR thinks if a gun is involved in a crime, that mandatory sentencing is fine with him. Stossel said that mandatory sentencing has not decreased the crime rate; it has merely kept the prisons crowded.
I think he also ascribes to the idea that whatever weapon is used, it’s the actual crime that matters most, not a specific weapon. He mentioned a woman with a rap sheet who shot into a ceiling to scare off her abusive husband. She now faces twenty years in jail for using a gun in this manner.

They were discussing minimum sentencing for crimes committed with a gun. Stossel was against; BOR was for. Here in New Jersey merely possessing one outside of your home is a "crime committed with a gun", unless you are one of the fraction of 1% who are well enough connected to obtain a carry permit. That's a good reason to oppose it.

O'Reilly was just off base on his first four segments last night. It was almost embarrassing.
Mary Catherine Hamm and Juan Williams handed it to him in discussion about drug enforcement laws.

I turned it off after O started ranting at Mary Katherine Ham. I dislike him, but I find the show interesting...usually.
