My definition of 'fair share' is for everyone to pay the same amount. Not the same rate, like a flat tax, but the same amount, say $5000 per family. Everybody pays, and if you don't have it, you do volunteer work to pay your fair share. Anything that taxes some more than others is progressive.
Our mistake has been moving the 'center' to the left.
