WOW! what longevity, that she has done so well at that age recuperating from a break! Good luck on your search. Dealing with aging parents is very stressful. Both of mine are deceased, but my fatherinlaw is 89. He went through an extremely bad patch a year or so ago, but snapped out of it and has been absolutely fine. I think it was depression but we were concerned it was beginning of alzheimers. He managed to turn himself around and that is sans any drugs whatsoever. He is 89, is perfectly fit physically and the only med he takes is a baby aspirin once a day.

Congrats on your FIL’s turn-around. Now would be a good time to get his affairs in order, such as wills, trusts, long term care options, etc. Not that my husband and I have dones that for ourselves, but that is what we are going through with my mom. It’s a pain.
