From the story:

“Barbar was planning to kill his wife’s lover in Texas and flee to Lebanon but was stopped by police in New Mexico after authorities tracked his cellphone signal, according to evidence at the trial.”

Sounds like the classic honor cleaning and then fleeing to Muzzie-land with the help of the umma.

Barbar strangled his wife, Maysam Barber, with a computer cord as she was handcuffed and naked on the floor. He then went into his daughter Tamara’s room and tried to strangle her as she slept. When Tamara struggled and pleaded for him to stop, Barbar bashed her head at least 20 times into the foot of her bed frame until her skull was crushed and her body was lifeless, according to testimony.

Prosecutors showed pictures of Maysam Barbar lying face down with the cord still wrapped around her neck and photos of Tamara’s bloody bedpost and sheets.

When Barbar married Maysam she had two daughters who were 18 and 10-years-old at the time of the murders.

The 10-year-old step-daughter was awakened by the sound of the pounding coming from across the hall in Tamara’s bedroom.
Evidence in the case showed Barbar found out in February that his wife had had three affairs and discovered photos of his daughter with another man on the man’s Internet profile.

Barbar removed his daughter from school early one day and took her to a McDonald’s where a notary swabbed her cheek for a paternity test. After getting results back on Nov. 6, 2009, he plotted for eight days, prosecutors said, including Internet searches of caskets, researching notorious mass murders and reading Truman Capote’s book “In Cold Blood.” He also emptied his bank account of $30,000, rented a car to be stashed at the Morongo Casino and researched flights to his native country of Lebanon.
The night of the killings, his family had a barbecue. He gave his 18-year-old step-daughter $20 to go out with friends and told her not to come home that night. He also made his 10-year-old step-daughter go to bed early so he and her mother could have what he described as a special evening.

After the murders, Barbar was captured on Morongo Casino surveillance cameras smoking and briefly playing slots. He called his 18-year-old step-daughter and told her to go home because he had killed her mother and sister.
