I speak Spanish and have spent time in Colombia. I also googled the name Yamid and even though it sounds middle eastern i could find nothing that indicated arabic derivation for it, and the only people named Yamid that it turned up on google were FROM COLOMBIA, so it could be that the name has some significance to the country? Several Colombian baseball players are named Yamid apparently.
That is interesting to know! Someday when I have the oppotunity, I’ll ask him about it. When we were anticipating his arrival, we were trained to say Yah’- meed. Oooops! We were quickly re-trained the day of his arrival to say Jah - meed’. In any case, he seems like a eally nice guy.
