>>A check of Kraft’s campaign donations through the Center for Responsive Politics website finds the team owner has contributed thousands of dollars over the years to politicians, mostly to Democrats but also to GOP Sen. Mark Kirk, R-Ill, the Republican National Committee, and even independent Sen. Joe Lieberman of Connecticut.

In the 2008 presidential campaign, Kraft donated to three candidates: Obama and Republicans John McCain, the party’s nominee, and Mitt Romney, who used to be governor of Massachusetts. Obama and McCain received $4,600 each and Romney got $2,300 from Kraft.
