people seem to think it’s easy MID-CHASE to carry several different kinds of weapons and pick out each 1 without screwing that up.

You're joking right?

Why do cops carry multiple weapons, such as a baton, night stick, pepper spray etc, if they can't figure out the appropriate one to use? How complex is this?

Maybe it’s not that complex.

But running and being focused on where some scum is - maybe while trying to reach for a set of cuffs - could cause confusion on which small piece of equipment to grab.

If it’s not hard, and they already have it, I agree mace would be the best thing.

Apparently too complex for our $40-an-hour, retire-at-52-with-all-the-goodies heroes in blue...

I think we're arguing with one here. He seems to believe that it's OK for our police betters to kill peasant dogs like swatting flies, but don't you peasants touch "police officer" dogs, nossir.
