I saw Jimi at least once with the original formation with Mitch Mitchell etc,
Was at the Fillmore East NYC. Jimi was stoned to the max in a swishy way with limp wristed mannerisms (sorry to disappoint) I think the powerful hallucinogenics must have done it. Just guessing here. At least three times during the show he played the big riff off of “Sunshine of Your Love” Cream which was very big exactly then

He was seriously wasted but put out better music by 100x what you have today

Saw him another time with Band of Gypsies and Buddy Miles dominated. They played some song “They Don’t Know” Buddy looked like an ex-con gave off that vibe. Same ex-con vibe when I saw Wilson Picket circa 1983. No horns. Zero horns! But had two keyboard players and his six backup men gave off that ex-con vibe. Great show of course! Same as Neil Young sang that “Welfare Mothers Make Better Lovers” Perhaps they did back then for Neil for this Reagan Era tune of his
