I have been criticizing the extremist Mitt Haters, not for hating Mitt, but rather for doing so in a way that is of low character.
(I am pretty sure you are in no mood to appreciate the distinction I'm making here, but I AM making a distinction and it IS important.)
Now, apparently, someone (not me) has posted scurrilous stuff about you and FR under my handle on the "TBL" site, and lo and behold a couple of the most vociferous Mitt Haters are here on this thread posting quotes from these fraudulent posts.
Here's what I think is going on:
I think one or more of the Mitt Haters created the bogus "TBL" account themselves, wrote the ugly posts, and then used their handiwork to slander me to you.
What I take away from this episode is that I was exactly correct in identifying these extreme Mitt Haters as people of low character whose domination of the political threads on this site has been bad for FR and bad for conservatism.
Now, as I said above, you seem in no mood to step back and wonder whether and how you might be getting played here. It seems that your antipathy for Mitt Romney is so intense that you just don't care about anything else.
But character and integrity are critical. "Character is destiny" goes the old saying. You have said numerous things critical of my character over the last couple of months, all of them false (as I've pointed out to you in each instance). I have never once disparaged your character, not here on FR or anywhere else, despite your claims to the contrary.
That is a fact.
**Why bother with FR if it causes you so much pain and grief? Please do not let your hatred for me or FR fester to the point that you go stark raving mad. Just do the adult thing and change the channel.**

Thinking back, the funny part: “the Brit” is actually an American, residing in the UK. NYC born and private schooled. Cut throat, lasting enemies were made at that site. One of the worst mistakes I’ve ever made. Clinically depressed at the time.

The old shows are aired in the wee hours. Used to be aired regularly. I had a batch saved in TIVO, but lost them all, when DirecTV replaced the equipment. *Sigh*.
The fact is I’m not even worried about TBL. I’m talking about your hostile posts against me and FR and our conservative posters right here on FR.

I frequently agreed with Quix’s perspective, but disagreed with his/her method.
Quix’s posts frequently appear frustrated, probably from a litany of adjectives bouncing around his aim, never seeming to improve the focus of meaning.
Instead, such method appears to have become a rant, scarring his soul to accuse more than to edify.
Every established institution has legitimate authority. Those who respect that legitimate authority share the blessings of the institution which freely shine upon all.
Whether one agrees or disagrees with JR, he is the legitimate authority of this institution.
Those who slip in their freedom to challenge legitimate authority are not justified when they are held accountable for their behavior.
My thanks to JR for his patience and for what I perceive as just handling of many an abrasive thread, not to mention a forum for many freedom loving Americans.
Patiently reading the body of this article by Quix, I witness behavior which is identified with Quix. As with many believers, he has a core faith which is properly directed to God, but somewhere a strong temptation has arisen to unnecessarily influence the thinking and behavior of others by adversarial accusations.
That accusing appears to occur when he is closest able to express his frustration. I probably have a similar fault.
I’ve found that by relying through faith in Christ upon His Plan and His method, no matter how heinous the situation, He still has an adequate method to handle things constructively. I might not be able to control all things, but then again, if I did, I would have even more things to worry about.
Regarding Quix’s penchant for CTs, UFOs, the unexplained, etc,...unlike many other posters, IMHO, Quix has developed a substantial academic skillset in addition to spiritual gifts. Those are rare qualities in an age when they should be more common.
On one hand, he cannot be accused of being lukewarm. On the other hand, the only authority, by which one can justifiably accuse other brethren, must come from perseverant faith in Christ. If the accuser has become more accustomed to satiating their lust to accuse and rant, than to edify the body of Christ, then that person has lost legitimate authority,...like a clanging cymbal.
Nevertheless, he devotedly takes on some strong challenges.

I'm not following you here, but in fact I have now (since my last post to this thread) gone to "TBL" and searched out the fake "rogue yam" posts there. There seem to be only six posts, all posted today, only one mentioning FR, and the offending text therein has already been quoted above by a Freeper who I don't know but with whom I have clashed on political threads recently.
Jim's post at the top of this thread said a copy of this post had been sent to him. It seems that the someone registered as "rogue yam" at "TBL", posted a slam of Jim, and then immediately that slam was forwarded to Jim.
I would be very curious to know who sent the "TBL" post to Jim. If it was someone posting about it on this thread then I find that especially interesting.

If I made a list of everyone I've encountered on FR who posted anti-Catholic stuff on FR, Quix would be pretty far down on my list as far as what I deem to be inflammatory statements. I pretty much skip the religion wars on FR, but assume they are alive and well.
I think in terms of the religious flames, Catholics are considered somewhat respectable these days compared to the strafing I've seen directed at another denomination, and certainly not contained to the religion forum or Smoky Backroom
I am a member of TBL, and I post under the same name I do here.I joined TBL because it allows me to stay in touch with posters I know from FR who got zotted here, or who find all the anti-LDS stuff offensive, and over the top.Some of those posters are from my home state, some are Catholics, some are just friends.
I avoid the TOS forum at TBL, just as I avoid the "Ride the Lightning" high five feeding frenzy stuff over here.
Things got pretty nasty over here during the Primaries. I was a Perry supporter, fwiw.
Anyway, I'm never really glad to see anyone get zotted, or maligned, or called names whether it's here or at TBL, or Lucianne's, or any other online forum.
Besides the froot loop comments on this thread I also find the calls for zotting anyone who posts at both TBL and here off putting since I would hope we still can enjoy freedom of association with whom we wish, and still be respectful of others at all times, and all places. I know some long time FReepers who have supported this site's mission both financially, and during Freeper events who do feel pain and/or hurt by the change in atmosphere here.I miss all the great Freepers we've lost to death over the years. I hate losing any long timers to zotsville.
I would be remiss if I did not say that when I've asked JR's permission to run a "Freeper needs help" thread, he has always been generous and supportive of me-whether it was help for a Freeper who lost her home in a terrible flood, or on another occasion when a Freeper's son went missing in the mountains after his car went off a cliff, and help with the search was needed. Freepers responded in both those instances with such caring and compassion. There was such a sense of family.
It was the same sense of family we all enjoyed eating Mexican Food together when Orvil was still alive, or more recently at the Alamo during TPX visits.
During the 2000 election debacle, as Freepers (and the world) waited for the outcome of the election, we were all galvanized. Weekends were spent protesting at the State Capital. Even out of state Freepers came to join. I remember Jeff Head came from Idaho, and he and his dog marched here. Now, Jeff's an object of derision by some. It saddens me.
Okay, narses, you pinged me for my comments, and opinion, and that's my two cents worth..a really long two cents worth.
A further note on strong challenges.
While I intended the comment as a complement for Quix, it should be noted such is not always complementary.
There exists a common form of arrogance amongst the well intentioned when they are exposed to injustice, to seek a higher authority to justify their position. Nothing wrong with that perspective, unless the higher authority being appealed isn’t righteous.
I recall some in academia, who were denied higher status, or sought employment and turned down by those with less than a quarter their academic skill sets for positions demanding less than 10% their skills, on the basis of their GPAs from most competitive institutions not being as high as those competitors who hadn’t completed a junior college AA degree. The injustice of the situation frustrated some to the point of seeking the Nobel Prize as a method to manifest their competence to the world, and quite truthfully, it wouldn’t have been too surprising if they had achieved it.
The problem with that type of thinking is that it is a type of arrogance, which is not in fellowship with God through faith in Christ.
It might be a difficult challenge, laudable by the world, but if not performed through faith in Christ, it becomes a counterfeit substitute for His Plan.
Well Jim, if you are indifferent to such blatant dishonesty as creating a fake account, etc., then what can I say?
And as for “our conservative posters”, I think that anyone perpetrating such slander is by definition not conservative due to the whole “Thou shalt not bear false witness...” thing.
But really, if what you are unable to stomach are my observations that certain prolific posters here are campaigning against Romney using irrational, dishonest, and abusive methods (again please note: NOT saying they’ll not vote for Romney, and NOT even campaigning against Romney, but doing so using irrational, etc., methods), or my observations that some posters are counseling despair and defeatism, then there you go.
These things I observe are certainly happening (numerous others are posting these same observations, after all) but if you chose to make it against the rules to notice them then that is your prerogative.
But is is simply not true that observing the truth is hostile to you or FR, and observing the truth is certainly not un-conservative, which is your other favorite charge against my posts.
