The toddler was killed on Nov, 21, 2010, during a game in which the Lakers defeated the Golden State Warriors. Too bad about the child, but at least the Lakers won!

Good news.
I’m sorry for Ms. Nguyen: she will have to spend the rest of her life knowing that her extreme foolishness killed her son.

I'm sorry, but when parents fail to protect their children properly, and place them in harm's way, it is an everyday occurence today to "blame others", then, find an easily accessible Ambulance-Chaser to sue the Deep Pockets of whomever they can find to blame (whether it's the Taxpayers by suing Public Employees who are not sued, but rather, the "Deep Pockets" are the Taxpayer, so that's the target), or, in this case, Staples, which has plenty of money to loot....
Try individual responsiblity and common sense, vs. blaming others and playing Litigation Lotto.

Good ruling. I’d never put my baby onto one of those tables. No one with any sense would.

Parents carry a heavy burden, but it's their responsibility to watch our for their kids.
Imagine how bad Josh Hamilton must have felt, throwing a ball into the seats, and a fan reaching for it fell to his death.
Should they ban throwing balls into the stands? Might as well ban sports. Someone might get hurt.

34 month old?
2 years and 10 months...
why not say 3 year old or 2 1/2 year old?
talk about yellow journalism.

I know how hard it is to lose a child but where is her responsibility? People are too sue-happy.

Sanity and common sense in LA, amazing.
I feel bad for this woman, she made a very stupid, careless mistake, but we’ve all done that at some point. We are just lucky if we never made one quite this stupid & careless.
But it is pretty low to make a collossal mistake like this and then expect someone else to give you a bunch of money to make it up for you.

This woman is trying to keep herself sane by blaming someone else, otherwise she will go insane at her stupidity. I know someone whose almost 2 year old climbed up on a window ledge (2nd story) and fell to the driveway below, fatally injuring him, as she was running after him....(one of those stepped away for a moment times)...I think it has nearly destroyed her life....BUT, she NEVER blamed anyone else! This woman needs to find a different way to resolve this...or she will be a goner herself.

The suit also alleged negligent infliction of emotional distress on behalf of Nguyen, who maintains there were no written warnings about the ledgeThe emotional distress should be "what an idiot I was to kill my child by doing something anyone with an ounce of common sense would recognise as extremely dangerous." Losing a child is probably the worse possible thing that can happen. Maybe being an idiot lessens the pain.
