Heat has a tendancy to cause squash to put out more male flowers. Some folks on this thread have had success putting up shadecloth over their plants so that it cuts down on the mid-day sun, but not enough to starve them of sunlight in the morning or evenings. That might be something to try. When the weather cools down a bit your plants should start producing female flowers again. In the mean time, those blossoms are edible, too.
Thanks. It has been hot for NY but not as bad as some on this thread are describing.
I just got fed up today and pulled a couple of plants. I thought maybe they were too crowded.
My cukes and tomatoes are doing fine.
