Wow. So many comments. For those of you who are welcoming me: thank you! For those who are a little suspicious (I can understand that), Ill prove myself over time to you (not that I have to, though).
As far as what I believe in: I understand Sharia, but believe in the traditional use of it, not the current bloodthirsty and violent version. What does that entail?
Treat women with respect. They are our equals and deserve whatever men are entitled to (education, prominent offices, etc.)
They are also our mothers, daughters, wives, and sisters. We must all learn to get along.
I believe in the family unit. A person cannot be strong without a strong sense of family. Support is everything and loyalty to ones blood is very important to me.
Gays? I do not agree with what they do, but as long as it doesnt affect my family, do whatever you please. Just dont throw it in my face. Special privileges for them? Not so much. Equal privileges for them (marriage, benefits, etc.): Yes, why not.
Do I agree with the brutal punishments instilled on my people, BY my people. F no. Not in the slightest. I also do not agree with any kind of extreme violence against any people (Jewish, Christian, etc.) by some of our extreme factions, and consequently, neither do I agree with said things done to our innocent men, women, and children as well.
Politics? Obama was okay but definitely NOT the change we needed. Maybe Romney can do better? I hope so.
His being black/white/Muslim/Christian (whatever is the rage these days) has no affect on my bearing on his stances; just his politics and policies.
Abortion: No. I dont believe in it. BUT, if the mother is in danger, AND if the child is less than a couple of months, then some consideration is due to the health of the mother, especially if she has other children or dependents looking to her to have her health.
Any other questions I can answer?
Welcome to FR.
So far so good.
