Just like I held my nose and voted for Bush both times ultimately. In the run-up though both times I voted for other people. But we wound up with Bush. He was up against Al Gore and John Kerry. Need I say more about why I voted the way I did then lol
As for Muslims. I try to treat everyone decently. I don’t like to be unkind to people or mistreat anyone. Just was raised that way.

Indeed. The first Muslim I met was over 30 years ago, in college, who was in a predominantly Jewish Fraternity. Since then, the Muslims I’ve met have desperately wanted Western Culture, NOT Islamic culture. My husband and I had a close friend, a pilot trained in the Iraqi Air Force, that had to flee with his wife and a suit case when the Shah came to power because he got word they were coming to kill him. When he tried to get an FAA license the FAA official threw his log books on the ground in the parking lot. He was one of the best friends we’ve had. None of his other co-pilots would associate with him. He was respectful of me, a woman, and didn’t want to identify with his stone-age bound culture. We had another fried who wouldn’t talk on the phone for fear of wire taps by Iraq and his family being hurt. All of the Muslims I’ve known have just wanted a decent way of life and that’s why they emigrated. Painting them all with a broad brush makes conservatives look racist and is wrong. They want us to look like knuckle dragging ignoramuses. And yes, I remember 9/11 because I cried for an entire week. Don’t feed the trolls!

She has not officially, but she does observe many of their
traditions, mostly just to get along with his family. Not to
say that they would be hostile towards her if she did not.
It is more of a “when in Rome” kind of thing. I really like
her in laws, very friendly and respectable. The wedding was
in a Mosque and we were made to feel like honored guests.

Keep in mind you will be insulted. Don’t worry, I’m attacked because I believe cigarettes are bad for children. (Turning kids into addicts isn’t a conservative value))
Conservative values transcend the labels we put on each other.
