The main advantage of NOT having Republicans in charge is that in the minority they actually oppose liberal policies, even if in the case of McCain and Grahamnesty they don't even really mean it. When they are in charge they promote the same policies and they bring many Republicans with them.

Look at Romney on the Obam-ney Care mandate as a tax argument, he can't even agree that it's a tax (legally). He is a crappy candidate and the Romney primary RINOs are starting to get worried.

Obviously Obama as POTUS is a disaster but it is not my disaster.

Example, GWB, whose actions (and inactions) helped Obama get elected. We escaped amnesty in 2006 by the skin of our teeth.

On the other hand, I would hate to see Obama change the SCOTUS and other courts to be worse by far than they already are in a second term (although there is no guaratee Romney's appointees would be worth a damn).
