What’s being taxed, I guess, is existence as an adult citizen without insurance coverage.
At least you now have free health care. :(
Non-participation is being taxed, I suppose.
As I read on Hot Air earlier, doesn’t this mean that other forms of private-industry non-participation can be taxed?
I haven’t bought a new car in years, so they could tax that, too, I suppose.
*Looks at watch.* Haven’t had an abortion in a while either. Guess I owe Planned Parenthood $400 or so.
*Thumbs through papers.* Haven’t taken out a loan in years... guess I owe the banks, too.
It’s you being alive and an American that’s being taxed. A “life tax”. To complement our confiscatory, communist death tax.
OBAMACARE == LIFE TAX
The air you breathe.
Nothing, at least as you and I understand it.
You are either MANDATED to have health insurance or you pay a PENALTY if you do not.
Neither is a tax.
But instead the word 'tax' into the Supreme Court verbal transmogrification machine, and suddenly mandate/penalty is a tax.
It no longer has to walk like a duck and sound like a duck to be a duck. It can be a turkey or a penguin and still be called a duck by the time SCOTUS gets done with things.

breathing is being taxed.
The decision of someone without health insurance to not buy health insurance. And that's clearly a penalty, or a fine.
Which is ridiculous and makes Roberts look like nothing more than one more political hack in a black robe who made up a rationale to arrive at the conclusion he desired.
Of course the idiots who think Obamacare is good for them are easy to lead around by the nose. If they complain about the skyrocketing costs, their favorite lowlife congresscritter or prez-uh-dent will demagogue private business, blame them for the cost increases, and their sheeple will buy it as usual.
