That’s very short-sighted. It matters not one whit if the “commerce clause” end-runs are curtailed, if the federal government can ignore it altogether and say “do this or else we’ll ‘tax’ you”.
That’s taking away one weapon and replacing it with a better one.
They already do that - it’s called a fine. A fine is a tax and nothing but an attempt to polish the turd. Roberts has brought it front and center that a fine is a tax and nothing else.
