“’We’ve got an increase in women using drugs like Adderall ending up in our treatment programs... It’s dangerous and can cause seizures, strokes, heart attacks, even death.”

It amazes me that doctors will perscribe and parents will give this stuff to kids.

I have a rule in my house that my child will not take any drugs that I don’t try myself first. I took an Adderall and the stuff is worse and more mind altering than cocaine (I grew up in the 80’s).

There are plenty of drugs that will mess you up pretty bad *if you don’t have the condition they’re intended to treat*. That’s, frankly, a really ignorant “test” you’ve devised.

There are plenty of studies that have shown Adderall, Ritalin, et al to be quite effective in children who actually have ADHD. I had it, and for me all it did was make it far easier to stay focused on my work. I did give one to a friend who did not have ADHD, who (unfortunately) abused things like that, and he had a “very smooth” amphetamine-like experience.

It is basically “Prescription Speed”. Hopefully you didn’t get addicted to it.
