i am talking about ear piercing here, not abortions. And of course they can refuse to do whatever, but Dave’s point was that ear piercing is not a medical job and that is just ridiculous. Saying that piercing your baby’s ears yourself rather than having a medical professional do it is the proper course is just wrong. I am astounded that nurses would refuse to something culturally common. ESP in texas.

What do yo think is the CPM/ICD9 code for that? There isn't one. And medical professionals have every right to refuse to participate in any procedure they find objectionable. Doctors don't do belly piercings or tattoos either. Is there anything a lawyer might refuse to do?
Here's another situation. There are plenty of veterinarians who refuse to crop ears or tails of dogs. It's their right to refuse and clients can find someone else willing to do it.
