“Wire taps show that agents actually wanted confirmation of such a change in policy before they would release controls on the weaponry in question and the stores where purchases were made were demanding ‘second opinions’ when told to let the untraceable weeaponry go with these known smugglers.”

These weapons didn’t have tracking devices, but are definitely not untraceable. They all have serial numbers since they were purchased from retail dealers. Their objective was to make the claim that cartels were buying guns from American dealers to try to turn public sentiment against the second amendment.

I should have used ‘untrackable’, as in no tracking device such as were placed in the Bush era weaponry for purposes of sting operations. Appreciate you catching that because you are absolutely on the money, the serial numbers were also what revealed the weaponry which killed Brian came from the F&F operation.
