Interesting that the extreme cold of the Younger
Dryas occured in a year or less. Scary.

Let's say you get a body about 1/4 the size of Vesta or Pluto rolling through the neighborhood every now and then. Sometimes it's close. Sometimes it's far away. It's going to affect something even if it never hits us.

I think we occassionally get "grazed" by bodies with enough gravitational force that gets near enough to sort of LIFT things away ~ like maybe hunks of the atmosphere ~ they'd get hauled into Earth orbit and it'd take several hundred ~ maybe 1300 orbits to reacquire it.

Bodies of water might lift and move ~ maybe enough to cut a channel from the Mediterranean to the Black Sea.

They'd invent writing to record that event ~ but fur shur, whatever it was, it appeared to folks on the ground to be only slightly smaller than the Moon. (SEE: Inkydo vs. Gilgamesh, Sumer, 1st century ever).
