Much safer to let a drunk drive on home rather than chase them at high speed....stupid

About 360 people are killed each year in police chases and an estimated 10,228 people died in drunk driving crashes in 2010 in the United States (latest figures available), according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

Invalid correlation.

You would need to compare fatalities between chased drivers vs un-chased drivers. This is the sort of statistical fallacy that liberals engage in...shame shame.

I strongly suspect that the percentage of those killed in high speed chases is much, much greater than the percentage of those killed in alcohol related driving divided by the number of incidents of drunk driving.

I came home in a big city a 1:00am Friday (not drinking) and from the in-lane weaving & delayed reaction times I saw, at least 50% of the other drivers were DUI.
