In my opinion, there are so many millions of gun owners and ccw folks that nobody, not the ATF or the DOJ is even going to notice your application. At this stage in the game they're not going to even have time to notice anybody unless such an one is buying 20 guns at a time.
But that's just me.
I thought it was just me buying them 20 at a time...
Back on topic; I carry a Glock model 30, because when seconds count, the police are only minutes away. And I don't believe you are a caring, responsible adult if you refuse to take measures to protect your loved ones, yourself or others in the community.
True, but you will find yourself on your state’s radar.
I was recently stopped by small-town,(pop 300) police and given a warning for a minor traffic issue. Officer checked my insurance and drivers license and came back to my vehicle and asked me if I was carrying a loaded firearm in my vehicle? He told me that when he ran a check I came up as a CCW permit holder and that he would, “appreciate, as a courtesy, being told that I had a firearm in my vehicle.”
I told him next time I would. So they know.
“...they’re not going to even have time to notice anybody unless such an one is buying 20 guns at a time...”
About not noticing, you are likely correct. And one could buy ‘20 at a time’ (over a weekend) at many gun shows and still not be noticed...
Here in Ohio I can go to the sheriff in any adjacent county for the permit...does not have to be in my county of residence.
