When my late mother was hospitalized at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines, the noise in the hallway was unbelievable.
Each room had a locked chart box on the wall by the entry door, opened by typing in a code number.
When the box door wouldn't open quickly, the nurses would beat on the metal doors. This went on 24 hours a day.

I was just saying to my mom that there is a need for something in between the hospital and going home, where you can actually get some peace and quiet.
