“Witness” by Whittaker Chambers. Required reading.
I'll second that!
Yes, that book had a profound impact on my thinking. If I were to run a school it would be part of the required reading in US Hostory.
No American kid should graduate high school or college without reading this book -- which is exactly why so few actually do. The Marxists who run our government schools make sure that book never gets near a "required" reading list.
McCarthy was lynched by the same Communist mob in politics and media because he came dangerously close to alerting the American public to the truth. I saw exactly the same thing happen to author W. Cleon Skousen after his book "The Naked Communist" was published when he was police chief in Salt Lake City in 1958. That's the book that included the list of Communist Goals we're all familiar with around here. We all know Skousen was telling the truth too.
"Retreat From Victory" by Senator Joseph McCarthy. A must read but hard to find (try B&N or Amazon used books sections) well worth the effort. Focus on General Marshal and the US shenanigans during the Chinese revolutionary war that gave Mao his killing fields.
