I look forward to the day that Floyd Mayweather gets his foul mouth shut but that statement above is just wrong. While Ortiz had some moments, two of the three official scorecards had Mayweather pitching a shutout as did most ringside observers.
Mayweather did not technically hit Ortiz on a break. The referee had stopped the action to deduct a point from Ortiz for a head butt (the most blatant I've seen in years) and had ordered the fighters to fight. Ortiz, for whatever reason, didn't defend himself (and actually appeared to be trying to hug Mayweather). Mayweather did nothing wrong.
After that head butt, Ortiz would not have grounds to complain if Mayweather had pulled a gun from his trunks and shot Ortiz.
Disgree - Mayweather who never gets hit got hit more in those few rounds than his last 10 bouts combined - he...was...going...to...lose. Anyway, you seem a good fight fan - there aren’t many of us left - and now even fewer after last Saturday night. Loving baseball, boxing and horse racing I’ve obviously become far too old for this day and age.
