In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of "Word for the Day".
enjoin (en-JOIN) verb tr.
1. To order or prescribe a course of action.
2. To forbid or restrain.
Example sentences:
"Ajanlekoko enjoined the members of the Building Collapse Prevention Guild (BCPG) to continue the struggle."
---Okwy Iroegbu-Chikezie; Group Advises Govt on Building Failures; The Nation (Lagos, Nigeria); May 22, 2012.
"It asks a court to declare the ordinance invalid and enjoin the city from enforcing it."
---Bruce Vielmetti; Hispanic Group Sues Over Milwaukee Contracting Rule; The Journal Sentinel (Milwaukee, Wisconsin); May 1, 2012.
Etymology:
A contranym or word with contrary meanings. Sometimes the meanings are as diverse as black and white (cleave: to split, to stick), but often they are in shades of gray. From Old French enjoindre, from Latin injungere (to join), from in- (towards) + jungere (to join). Ultimately from the Indo-European root yeug- (to join), which is also the ancestor of junction, yoke, yoga, adjust, juxtapose, junta, syzygy, jugular, and rejoinder. Earliest documented use: around 1225.
The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day. The Review threads are linked for your edification. ;-)

Though his spending, we’ve tried to injoin
In Barack’s realm there is no more coin
Our kids are in debt
There is no safety net
But in November, he’ll get kicked in the groin

xshub is enjoining me to vote for
Jamie Radtke a teaparty candidate for US Senate in VA. I sent this to the kids, trying to educate them on who is running, in next Tuesday's republican primary.

Enjoin is related to syzygy?
I did not know that any words were related to syzygy.

I harbor great hope that the Supreme Court will enjoin the enforcement of that misbegotten mandate known as The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010, aka "Obamacare").

Enjoin
Now i know that one of definitions of enjoin is forbid and I suppose there’s some truth in that as most of the things I’ve been enjoin over the years are generally forbid to the common folk.
Can I give an example? Why of course. I’m sitting in my fav o rite movie theater (there’s only one in town) enjoin a small libation of Ripple and the second cartoon when some kid that looks like Howdy Doody made up as the Joker tells me it’s forbidden, enjoined, which I was up til then.
So as I stand up as the lights come on. I push my enjoined Ripple bottle into his hands and shout that I don’t want a date or a drink and leave but not before telling the “management” they might should check on the kid with the wine bottle. He seems confused.
Enjoining is enjoined.
