Just found this article on the dedication of a statue of Winters near Saint-Marie-Du-Mont in France. He only agreed to pose for it if it was dedicated to all junior Military Officers who served on D-Day. Sad that he didn't live long enough to see it unveiled. Ex-Gov. Photo of statue at link. Band of Brothers Honored
I got to visit the D-Day beaches in 2006. It is an experience I will never forgot. Brought some sand back from Omaha Beach.
