There are a few things that you should not announce online. Dont tell them when you are going on vacation and leaving your house unattended and just like in any city, dont go flashing a wad of cash around. A home in Australia was robbed last week by two masked men, a few hours after an image of cash appeared on Facebook. posted by a 17-year-old girl who was helping count her grandmothers savings. The police are trying to find the thieves. Do NOT show off cash on Facebook. This could have ended with someone dead. Source
The robbers quickly figured out where the house was located and traveled there to steal the money. The image was posted at 4pm on Thursday, May 24. By 11:30pm the two masked men arrived with a knife and wooden club. They forced their way into the house, but the girl was no longer there. A 58-year-old man, a woman of 47, and a boy of 14 were home, so the men left with only a small amount of money they found by searching the home.

Re geo tagging: Are you thinking of camera phones? I could understand that—because the phone’s GPS could be operating. But, I haven’t seen it on pics, myself.
Cash and valuables are one thing - but people post pics of their CHILDREN - and the NAMES of their children - and a handy dandy GPS location of those children that some perv might be looking at and fantasizing about - and considering dropping in and calling your child by name.
Also the back of the car people symbols are fine - but do NOT put the names on there.
How many 10 year olds called by name and told the name of their mother would resist being taken off?
“Charley and Dean - your mom Mary told me to come pick you up; hop in the van.”
I bet she had her address listed in her profile.
Ditto the "cloud" - which is really only setting up a slaved terminal to a remote database. Remember the Mac commercial fighting big brother? Now Apple is promoting what? iCloud.
The only real clouds are in people's minds.

Kansas City roll?
A large wad of 1 dollar bills wrap inside a hundred dollar bill.
Gives a whole new meaning to “chumming ‘em in”.
“Gives a whole new meaning to chumming em in.”
You mean “chooming”.
I normally run Ubuntu at home so I can't provide you with any examples under Windows of how to access the data a picture may contain.
Terrier: NEENER NEENER NEENER!
Coon: Don't look now buttwipe but you're in a cage too!
A hundred on the outside, a twenty on the inside, and a bunch of ones.
ROFL!
I don’t think the photograph is related to the story. I don’t think there’s a lot of truth connected to the story either...
Very little NEED to defend yourself in Australia.
THINK about that.
Also the people whose answering machine message is, “Hi, you’ve reached Mary, Joe, Junior, and Sally. We’re not in right now...” Don’t include your name(s) in your answering machine message!
Here is a link to the exif data of that photo from an online source.
There are some higher-end standard digital cameras that geotag, but you’re right it’s primarily cameras in cell phones that offend. But that’s the camera most folks (especially kids) have available at almost all times.
Thanks Sarge!
