Unemployment is through the roof, central Oregon where Bend is and in Idaho can get extreme cold/snow winters..Check the altitude, it's like 4,000 plus feet in Bend.

At one time we were going to go to Bend, until we went there one winter....It was bone chilling frigged, wind blowing, ice covered roads, gloomy etc. Idaho can also get severe long winters.

We quickly decided to stay in Southern California....lol

Mount Bachelor is great, eh? P.S. Central Oregon tends to have much milder winters than much of Idaho. Pacific influence vs. Arctic influence.
