I was at Shea and Gooden was pitching a no hitter through 6 or 7 , but after he came to bat and hit a home run, he returned to the mound and gave up a hit ( or even more)

I believe it was June 5, 1987, Gooden first homerun since 1985 and first game at Shea since leaving Smithers Institute. Homerun as in 7th , in 8th Damon Berryhill hit on 4th pitch.
