“...as men age - they are more likely to develop cancer of the prostate.”
I too believe this is true. There are some things though that have a bearing on cancer...Iodine, for instance. We often think that iodine is a thyroid issue. This is minimally true. Iodine is especially important in tissues like the breast and prostate. There is increasing evidence that if a woman has enough iodine in her breast tissue, she will not get breast cancer, and that if a man has enough iodine in his prostate tissue, he will not get prostate cancer.
There are several groups of indigenous people around the world that do not get cancer, and a commonality in these groups is high cesium in their diets. This has been extensively studied and cesium has been used successfully in curing cancer. Much of the work here was done by Keith Brewer, PhD.
These indigenous people do become subject to getting cancer same as the rest of us when they are no longer in their native environment and their diets change.
There are no people who do not get cancer. Every human being, every beast in the field, every bird on the wing - is subject to getting cancer.
It is a simple matter of DNA replication not being 100% accurate. Cellular replication requires DNA replication and at any point an error of replication can modify a gene (an oncogene) such that the new cell is cancerous.
It is a simple and inescapable fact of nature that mutations in some genes will cause cancer and that cellular reproduction itself causes mutation.
