Are you from East Carolina? Out west white BBQ RULES! Similar to Big Bob Gibson's sauce, Very popular at church and social gatherings.

Here in PA white BBQ sauce is unheard of but I make my own or get Big Bob's shipped in. Neighbors thought it was stupid until they tried it, LOL!

I am from SW South Carolina. To the men in my family, BBQ is almost a religion. They have a hash recipe (what’s a good bbq without hash?) that has been handed down through the family that is just great. But if I share it they will deprive me of any more hash.
