You must have just read this stuff from the Catholic teaching. Read deeper. When they start talking that nonsense about Mary being perfect and ever-virgin, RUN, don’t walk, from that nonsense. The bible supports none of it and even contradicts it.
By what authority do you know what books are in the bible? How do you know that the Gospel according to Barnabas, Peter, etc. are not inspired New testament Books. Where in your bible does it say what books should be in the bible?
Why don’t you trust in the authority that gave you the NT - the Catholic Church?
