To thos who love 1960's folk music know why he's so popular as a performer.As a songwriter you don't even have to have a love of that genre.

I'm guessing you've never really listened to him other than a few songs. Dylan's singing was quite varied throughout his recording career.

You're being too kind. I think it is even worse than that. I'm a contemporary of Dylan. I grew up not far from him. In college, I lived on 5th street, a block north of his "Positively Fourth Street" lyrics. I consider his singing intolerable. Some say his poetry is good, but to me, his singing is so bad that I can't get past it to understand the lyrics.
