Facebook is social. What's wrong with that? So is FreeRepublic. I like the social aspects of facebook. It has brought me back in contact with old friends, seldom seen relatives, old schoolmates and lots of new friends from all across the country and around the world. My kids are living in other states. Their posts allow me to be a part of their social lives. I even got the privilege of "friending" Jim Robinson. :-)
But it's far more than a social site. I've become involved in a number of political causes that were started on facebook. Promoting and supporting Sarah Palin is one such activity. The amount of political activity is staggering, if you connect with the right people.
I'm in a number of prayer groups just as I am on here.
Facebook is a tool that works as well as you able to work it. I wouldn't put down what I don't understand. Educate yourself first.
Hence, it has no real useful function except to socialize.
