When you get to the point you can’t load your mags, its time to think about going back to a wheel gun. An old friend of mine accidentally shot himself in the brain trying to un load a semi auto. He was in the same situation...couldn’t hardly load a mag and could barely rack a slide.
To: chesty_puller
Look into some of the MagPul or Uppala (sp?) mag loaders.
They really save time and your fingers.

My dad had the early PT-145 and now the Millenium. He had to send his latest back for trigger problems. He likes it due to calliber, size and capacity.
I’m looking for a 30 round 600 Nitro pocket pistol that has sniper accuracy, low recoil and low noise. Until I find one, I guess I;ll have to compromise.

Yep, played with one. Hurts like hell. It’s an awfully small pistol shooting a nice fat round. Something has to give, and in this case it will be your hand.

Congrats on the new goody. If you want to make loading a snap, look up maglula and buy one. I think YouTube has some clips demonstrating its use. I bought one for a Hi Point .45 and it made magazine loading completely painless (and fast).

For an ounce more you could have gone a Glock 30, a far better piece

I'm looking seriously at a Beretta PX4 Storm in 9mm myself as a CC piece. Fits my hand just right. Supposed to have a barrel line closer the grip to lower the "snap" of recoil. I like my wife's Smith & Wesson M&P 9mm compact, great sight picture etc. I can shoot it far more accurately than logic says I should. But it just doesn't sit well in my hand.
Says ThunderSleeps, is currently doing all the paperwork to get his CC permit...

I own 3 handguns for concealed carry.
~Smith & Wesson Model 36 snub-nosed revolver chambered for .38 Special
~Ruger SP-101 snub-nosed revolver chambered for .38 Special
~Taurus “Millennium Pro” PT-111 chambered for 9x19mm
All three are convenient to carry, reliable, chamber an effective defense cartridge, and have an adequate amount of support from aftermarket vendors of holsters & accessories.
To: chesty_puller
Chesty, I think the Taurus will be a nice weapon for you. I have two handguns, one a S&W .44 mag for when I am up in the foothills, and the other a Rueger 9mm.
Actually also have an S&W .38 special...but my wife keeps both the S&Ws for herself most of the time...hehehe...and she is a crack shot with them too.

I bought a very nice Taurus Millennium PT 145 tonight. It carries 10+1 45ACP and is incredibly small. Weighs in at 16oz empty.Seems like the recoil'd be a bitch. How is it to shoot?

Congrats on the new gun. I still think my .40 Glock 23 is about the ideal carry gun but I still like to shoot .357 Magnum at the range in the 686.
