But he was impeached after the '98 election and that insured Democrats would have to fight for every election. Up till then they coasted into Congress every election.

And Clinton didn't go rogue with the gays, guns, abortion and Hillary care. Those are all Democrat platform issues. It was impeachment that screwed the Democrat pooch.
