I didn’t know “hoagie” was used in Washington. I saw Emily Miller use it on Twitter today, too.

"Sub" is pretty much nationwide now. "Hoagie" has apparently crept from Philly down into Maryland, and Emily Miller (if she's the same one) is originally from Baltimore.

"Baguette," the word for long French bread, is apparently one word used for long sandwiches in parts of the Washington area -- though this is the first I've heard of it.
