Romney looks down on Sarah Palin and evangelicals. He would never choose to be associated with her, and I’m sure she would feel the same.

What too many people don’t want to admit is that the national news media and entertainment industry successfully destroyed Sarah Palin in 2008. It was one of the most successful smear campaigns in history. She still has influence among conservatives, but she’d be rejected by the general electorate.

Few sitting VPs have won election to POTUS; it.is like the sitting POTUS is winning a third term. Washington, Andrew Jackson, and Reagan saw their sitting VPs win Potus. you can trow FDR in the mix, as having won a third term in his own name. Of course you are correct that INHERITANCE of POTUS by VPOTUS is much more common.
