A reminder for Kalifornians & damn Yankees: The South is full of rednecks with guns. They don’t wash themselves or brush their few remaining teeth. There are swamps & mosquitoes. Lots of deadly snakes. The roads are all dirt. The nicest homes are trailers. Country music blares from every tractor.
And strangers are shot on sight.

Hey there, except for the mosquitoes and swamps, you just described where I live in Tulare County California. Well, ok, we have blaring Mariachi music, but the rest of it is spot on. California’s inland is as Red as it gets. The crazy people live on the coast.
You failed to mention so many more things that they should be forewarned about. Your post makes it seem like a paradise compared to how it actually is.
