We have potholes with their own zip-codes here in upstate NY.

Sand? Ungood for bikers. Bikes prefer real, old-fashioned good pavement. Anyone wanting to go that fast should rent some time on a racetrack (or get his head examined while its still in 1 piece, ha!)
