Art by Fish Hawk. Graphic by Mama Bear.
Reminds me of the Maxfield Parrish school of androgynous youth, displaying the frivolity and innocence to which we should aspire.
Free Expression
Oh, let my fingers fly, that so might I,
To feel the soft caresses of the sky,
To rush, and waft, and ride the breeze,
To soar, and bank, control with ease ...
And let my music sing to you,
The song my heart knows to be true,
I cannot hide my soul, or anything,
When freshly from my bath I spring,
To play the melody my heart may dance,
And who would wish to see a heart in pants?
That's for the lungs, you know, those
Bladders flapping out their odors so.
But let me play, and let me sing,
And let my joy to others bring,
A smile, a tear, a welcome sigh,
Remembering the dreams that let them fly.

Very nice. Reminiscent to me of High Flight and I almost expected your last line to be, “I reached out and touched the face of God”. LOL I have not contacted you before but am quite in tune to your great poetry I catch on here through the year. Aloha from Maui

Thank you NnB for another great poem. I’ve saved this one to use with this graphic in the future.
Always enjoy your poems.
